Preface to Leont'ev

Robert W Rieber , Jeffrey Wollock

pp. 123-127

Contemporary scientific psychology suffers from a very deep crisis in its methodological foundations. It arose from the whole course of the historical development of this science and seized the whole area of psychological research with such completeness and force that it will indisputably mark the beginning of a new era in psychology. The crisis makes it impossible to develop further along the old paths. Whatever the future psychology will be, it certainly cannot be a direct continuation of the old psychology.
