Das nach-philosophische Staunen, das Benjamin in seinen Thesen Über den Begriff der Geschichte 1940 diskutiert hat, bildet den Bezugspunkt einer Lektüre von Texten Adornos und Bachmanns nach 45. Dabei geht es um die Grenzen der (Geschichts) Philosophie angesichts jenes durch die Shoah markierten Zivilisationsbruches und um den textuellen Ort jener Reste, die sich der Rationalität entziehen.Texts written by Adorno and Bachmann after 1945 are read in the context of the post-philosophical amazement which Benjamin discussed in his thesis On the Concept of History in 1940. What is at stake are the limits of a (historico-) philosophical discourse vis-à-vis the rupture in the fabric of civilisation marked by the shoah. The article examines the textual place of those aspects of history which elude rational analysis.
