G. Itelson – a socratic philosopher

Gideon Freudenthal, Tatiana Karachentsev

pp. 109-126

Otto Neurath repeatedly remarked that Gregorius Itelson had strongly influenced his intellectual development. In this paper, we attempt to delineate the course of Itelson"s life, as well as his Socratic personality and style of philosophizing. We also suggest what his philosophy consisted in. Neurath named it "Empirical Rationalism", and it proves akin to Neurath"s own "Rational Empiricism"
