What is professional practice?

Gloria Dall'Alba

pp. 11-33

In investigating preparation for professional practice, it is relevant to address the question of what professional practice entails. As Martin Heidegger notes in the quote above, inquiry "must be guided beforehand by what is sought." Through its framing of practice, this chapter outlines a theoretical framework for the book. It seeks to make explicit the assumptions underlying this investigation of learning to be professionals.
