Comments on mr Daly's "doing good and suffering evil"

Peter Winch

pp. 219-237

In the absence of Paul Ricœur or of a paper by him my role as chairman of these proceedings obviously sits somewhat unhappily on my shoulders. I shall have to be rather more partisan than would otherwise have been the case and myself attempt some remarks in reply to Mr Daly. I have had to prepare these at very short notice, but my task has been made easier both by my belief in the great importance of the issues which Mr Daly has brought to our attention and by my profound disagreement with a large part of what he has said about these issues in his paper.
