Love as a responsible presence

Laurent Bibard

pp. 89-95

Taking into account the previous methodological warnings, this chapter presents a new understanding of the notion of presence. Presence results from a positive interlacing of feminine and masculine. Such a positive interlacing concerns individuals as well as civilizations: the chapter makes clear the extent to which, independently of her/his apparent anatomy, each individual is always at once feminine and masculine and reciprocally. Such a clarification orients the reader toward capturing what is essential in the ancient Chinese Taoism teaching. The current globalization dynamic is consequently to be revisited on the basis of the previous chapters.
