The previous chapter was a paean to exactness. But it was also a reminder that form without content is philosophically and practically insignificant, which explains the barrenness of logical imperialism. To make a difference, philosophers must say something original, reasonable, and inspiring about matter, change, mind, value, knowledge, action, justice, or their cognates.
